According to Swedish health experts, getting your beauty sleep is not just a myth. There’s an important tie between the amount of sleep you get, and the way you look . Those who are sleep deprived appear less healthy , less chipper, and less “beautiful” than those who have found a full-night’s worth of sleep . “Why is Sleeping Beauty so beautiful? Is it because she sleeps a lot?” When Swedish researcher John Axelsson was asked this question by his daughter, he chose to do a study. This study, and many other studies have found very mind-boggling bonds between a lack of sleep and many unhealthy challenges . Through time, there have been many studies linking lack of sleep to depression, Alzheimer’s disease, and surprisingly, weight gain . A study in 2008 discovered that 50 to 70 million Americans suffer from this fast growing problem of sleep loss or sleep disorders. The more frightening statistic is that the number of people averaging six hours of sleep or less is on the rise . With that said, why don’t people get more sleep?
